Walking The Red Carpet

Thursday night I was lucky enough to attend The Amazing Spider-Man 2 World Premiere at the iconic Leicester Square. Walking down the red carpet along side the stars of the movie was surreal. Jamie Foxx mixed up some tunes on the DJ set above the entrance to the Odeon cinema while Andrew Garfield danced along – the fun atmosphere vanished my prior nerves.

*** The photo quality isn’t too great because I didn’t want to accessorise with a Lumix on the red carpet so unfortunately I had to rely on my iPhone! ***

I wore a black skater dress from Zara with my Christian Louboutins (I later noticed my red soles blended into the red carpet!) and a cream clutch from Accessorize.

The film was, well, Amazing! I was doubtful that I would enjoy the film because I haven’t seen the first Spider-Man but I enjoyed every minute and sat at the edge of my seat eager to know what was going to happen next. It’s well worth going to see it while it’s at the cinema, being 3D and all…

After the premiere Tanya, Jim, Marcus, Lucy, Chloe and I listened to our moaning stomachs and went to Nobu for some sushi (or steak in Marcus’ case – not the best place for a non-fish eater).

I’d never been to Nobu in London and it didn’t disappoint. We indulged in courses of yellowtail tuna sashimi and salmon sashimi in sauces you can only dream of, black cod which can only be described as heavenly, and the best shrimp tempura I have tasted.

Oh and I can’t not tell you about the cocktails – I took Tanya’s recommendation to have the Japanese Mojito and I’m so glad I did. Instead of rum, it’s a mix of vodka, vanilla and lime. I later ordered a Margarita but despite how lovely it looked presented with a slice of cucumber, I regretted not ordering the Japanese Mojito again.

We all had a wonderful evening of food-judging, film-critiquing, and giggles – a night that I will remember for a very, very long time.
