My Christmas Gifts

Firstly, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Did you all have fun? I had a night in with a bottle of champers and played loads of board games (I didn’t realise how stressful Pictionary could be!)

This year I have done surprising well with presents, so I thought I’d share a few of my favourites with you.

There have been a few things on my list that I have wanted for a long time and I have been so lucky that I have been given all I could have wished for and more thanks to my family.

This Lumix GF6 is an absolute dream. I’ve been using a Canon DSLR but it’s way too heavy to carry around and not exactly discrete when I’m taking photos in public places! This however is lightweight and so easy to use. I have used it to take the photos in this post and I was pleasantly surprised how well it takes in low light. I’m in love with it and so grateful to call it mine.

As some of you may already know (from my tweets, instagrams and blog posts), I have been lusting after these boots for a very long time now! They’re by Stuart Weitzman at Russell and Bromley called 50/50 and at £395 they’re not exactly cheap but with the help of my mum and grandma I finally bought them! I’ve never owned a pair of tall boots because I find they’re all far too wide on the calf. These ones are also elasticated at the back so fit all leg types – finally some boots that fit!

The weather has been disgusting since I bought them so I haven’t worn them yet – I’m too scared they’ll get ruined in the rain!

A Marilyn Monroe scarf – I’ve hardly taken it off since Christmas day.

I’ve never been one to wear beanies but this one from Whistles is so cosy and I like the neutral colour. It’s going to look great with a red lip I think!

Hurrah for Kate Spade! As you know I’m a definite ‘shoe person’. Whenever it comes to buying a new bag I somehow talk myself out of it so that I can buy some shoes instead. This means the ratio between shoes and handbags in my wardrobe is completely unbalanced, so I’m very grateful I have been given this gorgeous taupe coloured one (although I’m worried it may have triggered a handbag obsession now… I want more!)

I can already tell this is going to be my nail colour for the whole summer. The colour is ‘Sugar Plum’ by Ciate. The bow on each bottle somehow make it so much more appealing!

I’m a sucker for candles. The three at the front are by Cowshed, a brand I’m not so familiar with. Each product is labelled a different mood of a cow, there are eight so I won’t list all of them but these candles are Knackered Cow, Lazy Cow and Wild Cow. Knackered Cow is a calming but sweet smell, which is  fast becoming my favourite – I might have to check out the other Knackered Cow products. The candle at the back is by White Company, which I haven’t yet opened because the packaging just looks too good to destroy!

Okay, so on to the Clinique products. Having been a student for the past few years with money being tight I haven’t exactly been looking after my skin. The cheapest and quickest way to remove make up is to use a make up wipe and I’m ashamed to admit that this is the only skin care routine I have had! No cleansers, no toners, no moisturisers; it’s a miracle my skin is even clear. I was given some Debenhams vouchers this Christmas by my grandad so I decided to get down to town yesterday and invest in some decent skin care products by Clinique. I have never been so excited to take my make up off before! I can’t believe what I have been missing. After undertaking the 3 step skin care routine that Clinique are known for, my skin felt soft, smooth and most of all CLEAN! Even this morning I have noticed a difference. Of course I have only used these products once (last night) so I haven’t had much experience with them yet, but already I would highly recommend them!

Beautiful earrings from Tiffany & Co. They are exactly what I would have chosen and I don’t think I’ll be taking them off.

Marcus’ sisters Heidi and Tash gave me this Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss in number 71 (I wore it in these photos so you can see how it looks on). Unlike most lipgloss’s it lasts nearly all day but without that sticky feel on your lips. I’ve always been a fan of pinks and reds so this is right up my street.

Last but not least, a pair of leopard print socks by Happy Socks. Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas without being given a pair of wacky socks now would it!
